Cybercrime: EFCC nabs 4 Chinese nationals, 101 others for alleged job scam in Abuja + Photos

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says its operatives have arrested four Chinese nationals and 101 other individuals in a business apartment located in the Gudu area of Abuja, FCT.

Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity at EFCC, who disclosed this development in a statement issued Friday, January 10, 2025, in Abuja, noted the suspects were linked to a sophisticated hotel review job scam, targeting victims and establishments in Europe, and other parts of the world.

The ‘business apartment’ in Gudu axis of Abuja

The anti-graft regulatory Commission stated: “In its ongoing efforts to clean the nation of internet fraud and other acts of corruption, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested four Chinese and 101 Nigerians in a business apartment in the Gudu axis of Abuja.â€

Oyewale also disclosed that the suspected cyber fraudsters were apprehended Thursday, January 9, comprising 67 males, including the Chinese suspects, and 38 females.

The group was purportedly linked to a sophisticated hotel review job scam targeting victims and establishments in Europe and other parts of the world.

Meanwhile, the Commission has said the suspects will face prosecution after the completion of ongoing investigations.
