Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to Jubril Adewale Tinubu, Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Oando Group, as he marks his birthday Thursday, June 26, 2025.

President Tinubu, in a statement, described Wale as a visionary business leader and patriot whose accomplishments continue to reflect positively on Nigeria鈥檚 energy sector and national development.

Wale, a lawyer and globally-respected energy executive, co-founded Ocean & Oil Group in 1993, transforming it from a trading outfit into Oando – a quoted company that is currently Sub-Saharan Africa鈥檚 foremost integrated indigenous energy group.

Reflecting on Oando Group CEO’s exemplary entrepreneurial journey and contributions to Nigeria鈥檚 economic growth, the Nigerian leader affirmed that his work with Oando Plc and its subsidiaries has showcased a deep commitment to innovation, sustainability and empowerment.

The President also acknowledged Wale’s role in Nigeria’s clean energy transition through the establishment of Oando Clean Energy Limited.

The company is partnering the Lagos State Government to introduce electric mass transit buses as an innovative move towards achieving sustainable urban transport and Nigeria鈥檚 climate goals.

Besides the energy sector, President Tinubu highlighted Wale’s philanthropic work through the Oando Foundation, which has positively impacted over 500,000 Nigerian children through school adoption, digital learning, and teacher training.

Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Thursday stated President Tinubu also said: “On this occasion of his birthday, I congratulate my brother Wale Tinubu on his exemplary life and the hard work that has made him one of the significant contributors to our country’s economic growth and development.

“I wish him good health, greater accomplishment, and more useful services to Nigeria and humanity.”
