Nigerian First Lady (Senator) Oluremi Tinubu, CON, Thursday, July 3, 2025, passionately appealed to elders in Plateau State to seeks all avenues to ensure peace is maintained across the state.

ñ reports Senator Tinubu made the appeal when she and the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) team visited the state in solidarity with the people, and to lend a helping hand over the protracted communal crisis in the land.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu said: “I come in as a mother whose heart bleeds.

“I assure you this is the last time I would have to visit the State for this kind of intervention. And I pray God will honor this.

“Do not give room to the serpent to enter the edge and assault you. Mend the broken edge. This is enough.”

Nigeria is a beautiful country, says First Lady Tinubu

Underscoring the fact that despite the current crisis and other challenges confronting the West African country, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu asserted “Nigeria is a beautiful country.

“The little girl that welcomed me at the airport said, welcome to the land of peace and tourism. I pray this will be so.”

Senator Tinubu, in a chat with reporters during her visit, urged the people of the state to do all they can to keep the women and children safe, and allow them continue with their trade including farming.

“Whatever it takes, bring peace to this land,” she appealed to them.

Oluremi Tinubu as well the youths in Plateau to embrace peace and national unity.

She referenced that as stated in the second stanza of the National Anthem, “Nigeria must hand over a banner without stain” to the next generation.

On behalf of the Renewed Hope Initiative, the Nigerian First Lady donated N1 billion to victims of the clashes in the besides to food and clothing items.

Governor Mutfwuang: ‘I take full responsibility for donated funds’

In his words of appreciation, Governor (Barr.) Caleb Mutfwuang of Plateau State assured the First Lady Tinubu that his government and the people would continue to forge peace and unity in the troubled state.

Governor Mutfwuang stated: “Wherever the edge has been broken, we will mend it. We will make peace with all men.

“I take full responsibility for the funds you have brought to us. I pledge that we will not hold back. We will disburse it to those who it is meant for and no elite will highjack it”.

wAlso present at the forum were Hajia Nana Shetimma, Wife of the Vice-President, Plateau State Council of Traditional Rulers, religious leaders, market men and women, youth groups, and representatives of the security agencies, among others.
