*Market leaders and other stakeholders intensify efforts at creating awareness on the relocation of the Computer Village to the new ICT Business Park in the Abule-Egba area of Lagos

It is now beyond the realm of speculation as the Coalition of Association in Computer Village (CACOVI), has launched the relocation campaigns of the popular market to the N40billion Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Business Park at ‘Katangowa’, in the Abule-Egba area Lagos State.

Agency report indicates the ceremony, which began Wednesday, June 30 was in conjunction with Sterling Alternative Finance, Bridgeways, and the Lagos State Government (LASG).

The 15-hectare expanse of land located in the Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), in Alimosho, has been earmarked by the State Government.

绿帽献妻 reports Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu inaugurated the ICT Business Park in 2019, the project which the former Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administration in the state initiated in 2006.

Mr. Timi Famoroti, President of CACOVI, said that the inauguration was to create awareness on the reality of the relocation of Computer Village to the new ICT Business Park in the area of Lagos.

Famoroti said that CACOVI members had agreed to move to a more conducive environment free of any intimidation, harassment and aggression.

President of CACOVI stated that the members deserve an international market, such as the ICT park which will give members the opportunity to own their shops.

鈥淭o the members, it is an investment and an opportunity to fly.

鈥淭his project happening now is not without challenges but as leaders we are determined to give our members a very conducive environment for business,鈥欌�� said he.

Mr. Ifeanyi Akubue, President of Phone and Allied Products Dealers Association (PAPDA), said that members were ready to relocate, but the financial muscle was the challenge.

Akubue disclosed that the Association鈥檚 leadership had decided that a bank be brought in for members to be able to have access to funds to finance their relocation to the new facility.

He said that there was need for members to work with the leaders of Computer village so as to have access to fund from the bank which would run for seven years.

According to him, the association has taken into consideration all the needs before agreeing to the relocation, especially with the support of the Lagos State Government.

鈥淲e are convinced that Lagos state is supporting the project and we have been to the project site.

鈥淲e told our members that plans are underway to carry everyone along, and there is an opportunity for everybody to get involved even with as low as N1 million,鈥� he said.

Kehinde Apara, President of Association of Mobile Communications Device Technicians (AMCODET) was quoted to have said that the technicians are the livewire of the ICT multibillion Naira Business Park, and as such they are eager to be a part of the project.

The event was an assurance of the reality of the project after so many years of speculation, said Apara.

Mr. Jimmy Onyemenam, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Bridgeways Global Project Limited, said that the relocation of the Lagos Computer Village had been on for several years.

Onyemenam stated that the event was to create more awareness of the reality of the relocation of Computer Village.

He said: 鈥淭he main reason for the launch is to create further awareness and create further insight that it is affordable because of Sterling bank鈥檚 alternative finance is providing funding for those who cannot afford it.

鈥淭he bank is ready to provide funding for the traders to pay back within seven years; it is more or less like a lease to own shop.鈥�
