Government declares Lagos 3rd Mainland Bridge intact and safe, dismisses ‘shaking’ rumour

*The Federal Ministry of Works and Housing clarifies the bridge is intact and safe for use, and urges members of the public, especially commuters, to ignore the insinuations regarding the bridge

Against the backdrop of the viral claims that the popular and strategic Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State of Nigeria has “opened up”, “shaking” and unsafe to traffic, the Federal Government has certified the bridge is intact and safe for use.

ñ reports the government described the claim as false and unfounded.

Mrs. Boade Akinola, Director of Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, in a statement issued Tuesday, November 9, 2021, in Abuja, FCT, noted  Engr. Olukayode Popoola,  Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, said an on-the-spot report on the bridge did not reveal any opening or shaking.

The Ministry’s Director of Press and Public Relations stated in view of this clarification, members of the public, especially commuters, are advised to ignore the insinuations regarding the bridge.

The road infrastructure is receiving regular attention along with others across the country, Mrs. Akinola said.
