Mercedes-Benz recalls GLE450, AMG GLE53 vehicles over electric heater

Emmanuel Akosile | ÂÌñÏׯÞ

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) is recalling 17 model year 2021 GLE450 and AMG GLE53 over the ground connection bolts for the electric heater that may not have been tightened properly at production.

The automobile manufacturer stated that the ground connection bolts in the passenger-side footwell for the electric heater may be improperly tightened.

Loose ground connection bolts on the electric heater may cause the wiring to overheat, increasing the risk of a fire, agency report said.

In regard to what to do in rectifying the error, the company dealers would check the electric heater ground connection and repair it, as necessary, free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 18, 2022.

Affected vehicle owners may contact MBUSA Customer Service on (800) 367-6372.
