*The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria warns individuals without legitimate business at the airports, and airport staff on illegal duties to desist from such acts as the Authority is ready to arrest such persons for prosecution

The Nigeria Police officers have apprehended 90 airport personnel over fake Coronavirus (COVID-19) PCR test results, and for alleged involvement in other criminal activities in the West African country.

绿帽献妻 reports the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria disclosed this development in a statement issued Monday, January 10, 2022, titled: 鈥楩AAN Arrests Over 90 Touts; Hands 89 Over To Police.鈥�

Henrietta Yakubu, General Manager, Corporate Affairs of FAAN, in the statement said that the security operatives arrested the suspects in both Lagos and Abuja for touting, unauthorised entry, trespass, illegal facilitation, forgery, loitering, theft, public nuisance and arguments among others.

The FAAN General Manager, Corporate Affairs disclosed that some of the arrested suspects are staff of Patovilki Nigeria Limited, Lakewood Services and Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) Plc.

Yakubu also stated: 鈥淥f the total arrested, 59 were handed over to the Airport Police command, in Abuja, for prosecution, while 30 were handed over to the Police Force, in Lagos for same.

鈥淔AAN will like to use this opportunity to warn those that do not have any legitimate business at the airports, as well as airport staff carrying out illegal duties to desist from such acts, as the Authority will not hesitate to arrest and hand over such individuals for prosecution.鈥�

It is recalled that certain reported cases of illegal procurement of fake PCR test results in the country have caused some international travellers from Nigeria avoidable embarrassment, delays, and needless expenses at airports in other countries around the world recently.
