For failure to get vaccinated against the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the city, unvaccinated New York City workers, in New York State of the United States (US) would get pink slips.

绿帽献妻 gathered that about 3,000 New York City employees faced termination, if they had not received a COVID-19 vaccination as of Friday, February 11, 2022, in the United States.

Former Mayor Bill de Blasio hah imposed whereas incumbent Mayor Eric Adams has said he plans to enforce it outright in order to protect the general public against infections.

Termination notices went in the mail early in the week and take effect today. Adams said those who aren鈥檛 in compliance have essentially quit their jobs, report said.

Mayor Adams said: 鈥淲e have to be very clear 鈥� people must be vaccinated if they are New York City employees.

鈥淓veryone understood that.鈥�

Experts interrogate accuracy of US COVID-19 death toll

In a related development, some health experts have begun to interrogate accuracy of the country鈥檚 death toll, as the official US COVID-19 death toll approaches a million mark.

The medical professionals observed that deaths from other causes are sometimes counted as COVID-19 fatalities because the patient also had the damaging virus.

Dr. William Schaffner, Professor of Infectious Diseases at the Vanderbilt University Medical Centre, says it鈥檚 often up to the attending physician to make the call, especially in cases where the cause is not that clear. But he doubts that the death toll is inflated.

Schaffner told Medical News Today, that 鈥渆arly on, there was not widespread testing, so we underestimated the deaths.

鈥淣ow, the death data are more reliable. There may be some plus or minus, but death data are pretty accurate.鈥�
