Chrysler is recalling 4,586 model year 2021-2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles.

The automobile manufacturer said the affected vehicles may have been built with a missing weld from the seatback frame to the child seat tether anchorage.

The company also noted that a missing weld may allow the child seat tether to separate from the seat frame in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

In regard to what to do, Chrysler said that dealers would inspect, and if necessary, replace the second-row seatback frame free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 13, 2022.

Meanwhile, affected vehicle owners may contact Chrysler Customer Service on (800) 853-1403.

Chrysler’s number for this recall is Z24.
