Land Rover recalls 14,812 Range Rover, Range Rover Sport vehicles over faulty seat belt

Land Rover is recalling 14,812 model year 2016-2017 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles.

The automobile manufacturer said that the driver’s seat belt emergency locking retractor may not lock as intended.

Land Rover explained that during hard braking before a crash, the seat belt emergency locking retractor may not lock as intended, increasing the risk of injury.

In regard to what to do in rectifying the error, the company stated that dealers would inspect and replace the seat belt assembly, as necessary, free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 3, 2022.

Land Rover’s number for this recall is N678.
