Nigerian Government begins 2022 digital entreprenuership training nationwide

In line with the second pillar of the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS) in Nigeria, the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy has announced the commencement of the first batch of the 2022 Digital Entrepreneurship Training for youths across the West African country.

Ms. Uwa Suleiman, Spokesperson to the Minister for Communications and Digital Economy, in a recent statement disclosed that the training programme was organised under the Ministry’s auspices by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

The Spokesman said the entrepreneurship training was aimed at accelerating economic growth through digital literacy and skills.

The while fulfilling the Federal Government’s policy direction of repositioning the youths for a digital era through inclusion and empowerment.

The training, which commenced June 20, 2022, has 50 beneficiaries each drawn from Delta, Cross Rivers, Katsina, Kano, Borno, Kwara, Oyo, Ondo and Gombe states including Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The Ministry noted during the two-week training programme, each beneficiary would be presented with a certificate of participation, a laptop,a mobile MiFi device with a three-month Internet subscription, training materials and a cash stipend.

These are meant to enable them to kick-start their digital entrepreneurial experiences in the  economy, said Suleiman.
