The NiDCOM Chief also noted that there is little the Federal Government of Nigeria could do to diplomatically resolve issues in the territory because Northern Cyprus is not recognised by the international community except Turkey.

The latest warning comes amid reports that several Nigerians are being killed in the Northern region of the country.

Dabiri-Erewa, therefore, urged Nigerians in Diaspora not to be afraid of investing in their country because of insecurity.

Admitting the fact that the West African country’s current security challenges are a source of concern to many people, she nonetheless, stated that these are only temporary because of practical measures the Federal Government is taking to tackle the situation.

The Commission recorded over $20 billion in Diaspora remittances  2021, said Dabiri-Erewa.
