As the global community intensifies efforts at proffering effective solutions to the fatal virus through clinical trials of new inoculations, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife, in Osun State of Nigeria, has said a local cure would be proffered to defeat the novel Coronavirus soon.

The Ooni of Ife, disclosed this at the Oke-Mosan Governor鈥檚 Office, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, Wednesday, April 29, while donating two motorised modular fumigators to Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State.

Oba Ogunwusi said his donation to the Ogun State Government was in support of the government鈥檚 efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

His Royal Majesty stated: 鈥淲e are going to proffer the local cure for Coronavirus very soon.

鈥淚 have gone very far in advanced stage with the traditional medicine practitioners in Nigeria because before this pandemic came out, I had actually announced even before it came and broke out to the entire world.

鈥淔rom what we inherited from our ancestors, it came out very clear and the cure.

“The immune booster, and the solution to a large extent, was presented to us and we did what we are supposed to do. But the people probably didn鈥檛 hear us.鈥�

The royal father further said: 鈥淚 am very happy that the same thing that we are talking about in Nigeria, another sister country, Madagascar, has taken it upon themselves, and even the U.S. Government has even reached out to them for funding.

鈥淚t is another unfortunate thing that the international countries are reaching out to us on this solution, but even our local people are not reaching out to us.

鈥淎nd we have testimonials of a lot of people that have this ailment that we have used it to heal them.鈥�

He stressed that the solution is a natural herbal (medicine), and it is 鈥渧ery effective鈥�, adding, 鈥渨e decided to keep quiet and move to a stage of motorised fumigation and make it very mechanical.鈥�

According to him, 鈥渙ur ancestors started fumigation, sanitisation. They used to call it 鈥榚ro鈥� (antidote) wherever you have 鈥榠gbona鈥� (fever) in the olden days.

鈥淥ur ancestors will say 鈥榚 je ki a lo ero鈥� (meaning let鈥檚 apply the antidote). We are here to fumigate; so, what is the difference?

鈥淲e are so worried; it is sleepless nights for me what I have just come to present today. It is very huge sleepless nights because we were fully prepared in a traditional way.

鈥淚t is not like we are not prepared, and that is why it didn鈥檛 actually catch us unawares. So, the result will soon come out and we will announce it to the world.

鈥淲e are looking at the whole Nigeria. The issue is logistics; so, we are trying to cover the one we can cover within our ambit, but the major challenge is logistics.

He, however, mentioned the issue of logistical challenges in reaching out to more states across the Federation.

鈥淲hen I get to the point of hitting brick wall, I will shout to the whole world again that, please help us we have a solution, how can we reach to other longer places.

鈥淔or me, I am ready, I am willing to move. We have to do legacy for ourselves, and rise to the occasion to face this pandemic.鈥�
