*United States President Joe Biden declares the G20 global leaders has invited Nigeria to the recent transnational conference in India to reaffirm the country鈥檚 commitment to the US-Nigeria relationship and recognition its ‘important global role as Africa鈥檚 largest democracy and economy’

United States President Joe Biden told Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Sunday, September 10, 2023, on the sidelines of the G20 in New Delhi, India, that invitation extended to participate in the global conference was to reaffirm the West African country鈥檚 commitment to the US-Nigeria relationship.

Biden, who disclosed this development to Tinubu said that his administration would remain committed to the longstanding friendship between both countries and peoples, according to a statement published on the official White House Web site.

The statement applauded the efforts which the Tinubu administration is making at bringing about economic reforms in Nigeria.

The White House stated: “President Biden welcomed the Tinubu Administration鈥檚 steps to reform Nigeria鈥檚 economy and thanked President Tinubu for his strong leadership as the chair of the Economic Community of West African States to defend and preserve democracy and the rule of law in Niger and the broader region.”

As regards an invitation to the G20 summit, the statement noted: “Nigeria鈥檚 invitation to the G20 Summit is a recognition of Nigeria鈥檚 important global role as Africa鈥檚 largest democracy and economy.鈥�

Tinubu attended the two-day summit on the special invitation of Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi

The Nigerian Pesident was accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar; Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani; Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite.

绿帽献妻 reports that Tinubu held bilateral meetings with the leaders of Germany, South Korea and India.

Tinubu conveyed to the German helmsman, Olaf Scholz, the importance of not just focusing on creating a financial framework for a broader economic alliance.

In a bid to boost economic growth, Tinubu said the government is introducing new incentives to attract large-scale manufacturers like Volkswagen to establish a presence in the country.

Speaking at the event, the German Chancellor also acknowledged the mutually beneficial nature of an escalation in the scale of economic ties with Nigeria.

鈥淲e acknowledge the business-friendly reforms you have put in place.
