Onanuga becomes Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Ms. Yakubu as SSA on Humanitarian Affairs

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as part of his administration’s efforts at prioritising effective and efficient working synergy between the Presidency and Federal Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies has approved the appointments of Mr. Bayo Onanuga as the Special Adviser (SA) to the President on Information and Strategy, and another presidential aide in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

Chief Ajuri Ngelale, SA to President on Media and Publicity, Friday, October 13, 2023, stated that President Tinubu approved the fresh appointments of “professionals who have prior working experience within the architecture of the Federal Ministries they will be coordinating.”

ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ reports Mr. Onanuga is a renowned media professional and one of the founders of independent TheNEWS magazine in the years of military rule in the West African country.

He equally served as the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) during the immediate  past administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The new SA to Tinubu on Information and Strategy was prominent in the APC Presidential Media Campaign team during the 2023 General Elections in Nigeria.

Chief Ngelale said this responsibility is in addition to duties that the new appointees will perform at the President’s discretion on ministerial coordination and strategy.

He listed the two new appointees as: “Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy — Mr. Bayo Onanuga; and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation — Ms. Delu Bulus Yakubu.”

“The President wishes the new presidential aides well in the discharge of their duties,” stated the President’s SA on Media and Publicity.
