President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not give a broadcast to the nation Wednesday, May 29, 2024, to celebrate his first anniversary as the Nigerian leader.

Instead, President Tinubu will address a joint session of the National Assembly (NASS), in Abuja, FCT, which has lined up a programme to commemorate 25 years of the West African country鈥檚 democratic journey at both the Executive and Legislative levels.

However, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, has refuted the earlier claims that President Tinubu would address a joint sitting of the National Assembly (NASS), Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in Abuja, FCT, to mark 25 years of democracy in Nigeria.

Earlier, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, who disclosed this development in a statement issued Tuesday, May 28, said President Tinubu鈥檚 speech would dwell on the achievements of his administration and Nigeria’s democracy since the military ceded power 1999.

Onanuga noted former Senate President David Mark, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, former Speaker of the House of Representatives and now President Tinubu鈥檚 Chief of Staff (CoS), are all lined up to address the Federal Legislature Wednesday.

Also lined up to speak is the former military ruler, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (Rtd.), who handed over power to civilian administration in 1999, the statement noted.

The Presidential aide stated: 鈥淎t the end of the speeches, President Tinubu will commission the National Assembly Library and Resource Centre, now to be known as Bola Ahmed Tinubu Building.鈥�
