As part of the its collaborative initiatives with diverse stakeholders to deepen connectivity in the country鈥檚 digital ecosystem, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has commissioned a new Centre of Excellence, in Abuja, FCT.

绿帽献妻 reports the telecoms sector regulatory Commission recently disclosed newly activated Centre of Excellence, powered by Nokia, is aimed at providing Nigerians with 鈥渢echnical and vocational skills to support the digital economy.鈥�

In his remarks on the occasion, the NCC quoted Dr. 鈥橞osun Tijani, Honourable Minister for Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, as saying: 鈥淢y expectation is that NCC will collaborate with more stakeholders to make this initiative a true Centre of Excellence for Africa.

鈥淭here is no society in the world that can prosper without connectivity. The connectivity requires human for its proper functioning.鈥�

Dr. Aminu Maida, Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of the NCC, also remarked: 鈥淭his is the first time in Nigeria when our radio engineers will have the opportunity to come and touch and feel what a radio looks likes.鈥�

Maida averred that with the 5G technology era and the skill that engineers and other Nigerians will acquire, 鈥渨e would actually see a lot of innovations through this Centre.鈥�
