The Management of Dangote Petroleum Refinery has refuted a claim in news report purporting that the company has fixed petrol price for Nigerian energy consumers at N600 per litre.

Mr. Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer at Dangote Industries Limited (DIL), who clarified this in a statement Tuesday, August 13, 2024, said: 鈥淥ur attention has been drawn to headlines announcing 鈥楳arketers Project N600/litre for Dangote Petrol鈥� published in Punch Newspapers of Tuesday August 13, 2024.鈥�

The Group stated: 鈥淲e would like to clarify that Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) is not our business partner yet.

鈥淲e have never discussed price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) with them, and they have no mandate or authority to speak for us, either for good or with hidden transcript.鈥�

Chiejina said: 鈥淲e urge the public to desist from such speculative announcement.

鈥淲e have our official channels through which we make our views known to our stakeholders.鈥�
