NITDA CEO receives achievement award for digital innovations, transformation in Nigeria

For driving digital innovations and transformation in the West African country, the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, in South-South Nigeria, through its Centre for Information and Telecommunications Engineering has honoured Malam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, CCIE, Director-General of the National Informational Technology Development Agency (NITDA), with an Award of Excellence.

ñ reports Inuwa’s new reward is based on his “undeniable impacts, resounding achievement” in the IT sector of the Nigerian economy.

The Information Technology (IT) sector regulatory agency stated though the award was earlier announced during the celebration of this year’s World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, held May 17, 2024, Prof. Bourdillon Omijeh, Director of Centre for Information and Telecommunication Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt, actually presented the award to the NITDA Chief Executive August 19 this year, at the agency’s headquarters, in Abuja, FCT.

NITDA also disclosed Prof. Omijeh so presented the achievement to Inuwa on behalf of Prof. Owunari Georgewill, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt.
