Nigeria Police arrest 2 suspects for concealing 124 bullets in palm oil, cybercrimes, ‘classified’ document leaks

*The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Police arrest certain Hauwa Sani for concealing 124 rounds of anti-craft ammunition in a gallon of palm oil, as detectives also apprehend Bristol Isaac Tamunobiefiri, also known as Pidom, in Rivers State, on several allegations bordering on cybercrimes, document leaks that undermine the integrity of government operations

Operatives of the Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Friday, August 23, 2024, arrested Hauwa Sani for concealing 124 rounds of anti-craft ammunition in a gallon of palm oil.

Ramhan Nansel, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Police Command, disclosed this in a statement posted on its verified X handle Saturday, August 24.

The State Police operatives as well arrested the lady suspect with N78,500 cash and a mobile phone while trying to smuggle the live ammunition to Katsina State, North-West Nigeria.

The statement noted: “On 23/8/2024 at about 1710hrs, based on credible information, Police operatives attached to Keffi Division intercepted and got one Hauwa Sani ‘F’ alongside a 2 years old child of Doro village, Katsina State arrested.

“Consequently, one hundred and twenty-four (124) rounds of Anti-Aircraft ammunition concealed in a gallon of palm oil, one Tecno mobile phone, and a cash sum of Seventy-eight thousand and five hundred Naira (#78,500) were recovered from the suspect as exhibit.

The Police PRO further said: “Preliminary findings revealed that the suspect received supply of the ammunition at Rafin Sanyi village of Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, and concealed the items in a gallon of palm oil enroute Katsina State before nemesis caught up with her.â€

Meanwhile, Shehu Nadada, Commissioner of Police, in Nasarawa State, has ordered the transfer of the suspect and exhibit to the Force Intelligence Department, Force Headquarters, in Abuja, FCT, for further investigation.

In a related development, the Nigeria Police also have arrested certain Bristol Isaac Tamunobiefiri, also known as Pidom, on several allegations of committing serious offences that undermine integrity of government operations, including unlawful possession, leakages of classified documents, and cyber-related offences in Rivers State

The Police detectives have arrested a suspect involved in document leaks in his hotel room, in Rivers State, South-South region of the country.

It was learnt certain the security agents apprehended certain Bristol Isaac Tamunobiefiri, also known as Pidom, on allegations of committing serious offences that undermine the integrity of government operations.

The arrest took place August 5 this year, in his hotel room in the state.

Speaking on the incident, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Saturday, August 24 stated: “In a well-coordinated effort, officials from the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) apprehended Bristol Isaac Tamunobiefiri, also known as Pidom, on allegations of committing serious offences that undermine the integrity of government operations.

“There are several allegations levelled against the suspect, including unlawful possession, leakages of classified documents, cyber-related offences, and others.â€

ACP Adejobi also said: “We will do due diligence in carrying out thorough investigation into the cases.

“The Force will leave no stone unturned to continually enforce the law and bequeath to Nigerians a more secure nation.â€
