HRM Oba (Dr.) Peter Babatunde Ojo, the Akimo of Ikimo-Ijesa, in Obokun Local Government Area (LGA) of Osun State of Nigeria, Friday, October 18, 2024, bade farewell to Pa Isaac Oladele Ojo, his late father, who was buried at his residence, in the Ilaje area of Ilesa town in the state.

ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ reports late Pa Ojo, who was born April 12, 1935, to late Madam Alice Olayemi Ojo and Pa Gabriel Oginni Ojo, hailed from Odo Osunmu, Aragan, in Ilesa, while Pa Ojo Oginni’s maternal descendant was the Odeyemi’s Osunmu Olojiodo of Ikimo-Ijesa.

Following the funeral ceremony at the deceased’s residence Friday, the Outing Service for late Pa Ojo, who died September 1, 2024, at age 89, also held at the Christ Apostolic Church, (CAC), Isokun District Coordinating Council (DCC) Headquarters, in Ilesa, under the leadership of Pastor T. A. Adesoji, Superintendent of Isokun DCC.

Making a grand entry into the arena of the colourful reception programme held at Rasmond Event Centre at Ilaje, HRM Oba (Dr.) Ojo, in company with his Olori Elizabeth Ayobami Ojo, the Olori Akimo of Ikimo-Ijesa, welcomed fellow traditional rulers, associates, and guests to the well-attended event shortly after the Funeral Ceremony/Outing Service.

The event also attracted several hundreds of dignitaries from all walks of life, including top royal fathers, family relations, crème-de-la-crème of the society, friends, associates from across Osun State, and other parts of the West African country.

Akimo-in-Council, chiefs and associates pay tributes to late Pa Ojo

Earlier, in their separate tributes for late Pa Ojo, the Akimo-in-Council had stated: “We can’t pay death to release you for us; your good impact on Lojiodo’s dynasty cannot be measured by Gold.

“You are more than jewel. The Odeyemis and Lojiodos are missing you but heaven has welcomed you. Beloved Daddy, you were full of grace in looks and in need.

“Truly graceful, an epitome of courage, dedication and devotion to God and people around you.

“We hold you dear in our hearts, where your memories remain forever fresh. Rest on Omo Osunmu Opoodi….â€

In his tributes to the deceased, High Chief Adewuyi A. T., Risa of Ikimo-Ijesa, stated: “There’s time and season for everything in life. Pa Isaac Oladele Ojo lived among the living, and has now joined those who have passed on resting in the Lord till eternity…. Farewell Baba Ilaje.â€

Pas. (Dr.) Ojuolape C. Adeola, late Pa Ojo’s eldest daughter, in her tributes also wrote: “The sweet memory of my father will forever linger in my heart.

“Baba Juo, as some people used to call Baba Mi, was a man of many dispositions, as he was a very caring man, very humble, well-organised, very neat, very accommodating, very approachable, and he was able to live very impactful life in his own little way.â€

Dr. Adeola also stated: “He worked in several places, and in all, he left a footprint of an impeccable character, and today, by God’s grace, we his children are able to stand tall wherever we are.

“His departure, is without doubt, painful but what else can we do than to submit to God’s will concerning him. I believe that on the resurrection day, we shall all meet to part no more.â€

Among several Royal Fathers and Oloris, high chiefs, groups, associations, and other networth individuals that graced the reception programme are Members of the Akimo-in-Council; HRM Engr. Oluwafemi Agunsoye Abikeyin Ekun, Elegboro of Ijebu-Ijesa; HRM (Dr.) Oba Abdulrasak Olanbiwaonninu Abiola Esan, the Supreme Onileegbo-Ijesa; HRM Oba Samson Bamidele, the Owa Akinfin of Ikinfinland; and HRM Oba Augustine Adenipekun Alowolodu, the Elere of Ere-Ijesa.

Others are HRM Oba Michael Adeyemi Adebayo JP (Adelugbagbe I), the Oludo of Ido-Ijesa; HRM Oba (Dr.) Ajayi Lawrence (Lofingbure I), the Alahun of Ilahun-Ijesa; HRM Oba Adelowo Adeniyi Oluwabunmi, the Onile Ayo of Ile Ayo; HRH Oba Isaac Coker, the Alayegunle of Ayegunle-Ijesa; and Olori Akintokun Iyabo, Olori Onidoka of Idoka-Ijesa.

Other Royal Fathers at the reception programme also included HRM Oba David Olaniyi Adewumi, the Onimoro of Imoro-Ijesa; HRH Oba Ezekiel Adejuyitan, the Nisagbe of Isagbe, and Olori Bolanle Adejuyitan; HRM Oba Taiwo Kehinde Adebowale (Jowele Lorioko, the Onifiye of Idaado-Ijesa, and Olori Adeosun Adebowale; HRM Oba Sunday Ishola Ibironke, the Awaraja of Iwaraja-Ijesa, and Olori Ibironke.

HRH Oba Omo Tooyosi Adebayo M. Akinleye, JP, Odundun Asoludero, Ojagbudaarere I, the Olukosi of Olukosi-Ijesa; HRH Oba Oluyemi Oyeleye Falode II, the Oloke Oshin-Ijesa, and Olori Modupe Oluyemisi Falode; HRH Oba Adegbuyi Adegbenga Joseph, the Olokeana of Okeana; HRH Oba Adebowale Adeniran Popoola, the Olorunja of Orunja-Ijesa; and High Chief Oyewusi Babatunji Fowowe, the Odofin of Odo-Ijesa, all came to express their solidarity with HRM Oba (Dr.) Ojo over his father’s demise.

Still among several other high-profile individuals and groups that honoured the invitations for the occasion are Alhaji Mustapher Temidayo Esan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sumaworld Agro-Allied Nigeria Limited; and Prince Adedire Sunday Omole Egbeyemi.

Late Pa Ojo was survived by Deacon Bolakale Ojo, his wife, several children, who are now astute professionals in diverse fields of human endeavour, and ministers of God, and one of his children is HRM Oba (Dr.) Peter Babatunde Ojo, the current Akimo of Ikimo-Ijesa, in Osun State.
