Fuel Imports: No fresh suit against NNPCL, others –Dangote Group

Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has clarified that an old issue, which started June 2024, culminated in a matter being filed September 6 this year.

Dangote Group, which noted this in a statement Monday, October 21, 2024, said currently, the parties in the case are dialoguing since the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive on Crude Oil and Refined products sales in Naira Initiative.

ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ reports the country’s Federal Executive Council (FEC), recently approved the Crude Oil and Refined products sales in Naira Initiative of the Federal Government.

Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, stated: “We have made tremendous progress in that regard, and events have overtaken this development.

“No party has been served with court processes, and there is no intention of doing so.

“We have agreed to put a halt to the proceedings.”

Dangote further submitted: “It is important to stress that no orders have been made, and there are no adverse effects on any party.

“We understand that once the matter comes up in January 2025, we would be in a position to formally withdraw the matter in court.”
