Renewed Hope Initiative/FOP: We’re committed to improving lives of vulnerable Nigerians –First Lady

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has reassured Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is doing everything it can to improve the lives of the ordinary man.

The First Lady, who stated this at the Government House, Ado-Ekiti, in Ekiti State, noted the administration’s various reforms and programmes would yield long-lasting results rather than a flash in the pan approach.

Represented in the occasion by Hajia Nana Shettima, Wife of the Vice President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu also explained that the Food Outreach Programme of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) under its Social Investment programme, is a monthly intervention strategy.

Busola Kukoyi, Senior Special Assistant to the First Lady on Media, Thursday, October 31, 2024, stated the Nigerian First Lady disclosed the initiative is targeted at the vulnerable groups in the society, and it is to complement the efforts of the Nigerian Government.

Distributing the food items to the various vulnerable groups at the Government House, in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, First Lady Tinubu also affirmed that the RHI is in line with the objectives of President Tinubu’s administration.

According to her, the administration is working towards meeting the needs of the Nigerian consumers.

She equally implored the beneficiaries to not divert the food items to the market but consume them in their respective households.

Speaking at the programme, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, wife of the Ekiti State Governor, appreciated Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s support to the state, especially in the areas of agriculture.

Dr. Oyebanji stated the farmers in the state received farming implements besides women empowerment and scholarship.

She also urged the beneficiaries of the Food Outreach Programme of RHI to look into embracing agriculture, especially in their homes, so they can they provide food for their families and neighbours.

The RHI Food Outreach Programme was launched in Abuja, FCT, December 2023.

The initiative is said to have covered some states already, impacting lives of people with disabilities, women, and the youths.

The programme, which is supported by a well-meaning industrialist, provides assorted food items, Kukoyi stated.
