In his bid to further ensure effective and consistent communication of the Nigerian Government policies, decisions, programmes, and engagements, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced a fresh shake-up in media team, with the approval of Messrs Sunday Dare and Daniel Bwala as co-Spokespersons with Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

Onanuga, who disclosed this development in a statement Monday, November 18, 2024, affirmed there is no longer a single person as the President Tinubu’s Spokesperson.

Onanuga noted both and Bwala, would jointly serve in the office of the presidency as Spokespersons.

The statement also noted that Dare, who was Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation now has a new designation as Special Adviser, Media and Public Communication.

The President aide further also said Bwala, earlier announced as Special Adviser, Media and Public Communication last week, now serves as the Special Adviser on Policy Communication.

The Federal Government further explained that the latest restructuring is designed to ensure effective and consistent communication of government policies, decisions, and engagements in the West African country.

Onanuga stated: “President Bola Tinubu has re-designated the positions of two recently appointed officials in the State House Media and Communications team to enhance efficiency within the government’s communication machinery.

“The restructuring is as follows: Sunday Dare – hitherto Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation is now Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications.”

He stated: “Mr Daniel Bwala – announced last week as Special Adviser, Media and Public Communication, is now Special Adviser Policy Communication.

“These appointments, along with the existing role of Special Adviser, Information and Strategy, underscore that there is no single individual spokesperson for the Presidency.”

The Presidency added: “Instead, all the three Special Advisers will collectively serve as spokespersons for the government.â€
