The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the company’s price of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise known as petrol, to N970 per litre for oil marketers in Nigeria.

Mr. Anthony Chiejina, Chief Branding and Communications Officer at Dangote Industries Limited (DIL), disclosed this development in a statement Sunday, November 24, 2024.

Chiejina stated that the decision is Dangote Refinery’s way of appreciating Nigerian energy consumers “for their unwavering support in making the refinery a dream come true.”

The statement also noted the N20 per litre price reduction followed the refinery’s N990 ex-depot price announced earlier November this year.

Chiejina further said: “In addition, this is to thank the government for their support as this will complement the measures put in place to encourage domestic enterprise for our collective well-being.

“While the refinery would not compromise on the quality of its petroleum products, we assure you of best quality products that are environmentally friendly and sustainable.”

The DIL Chief Branding and Communications Officer averred: “We are determined to keep ramping up production to meet and surpass our domestic fuel consumption; thus, dispelling any fear of a shortfall in supply.â€

According to Dangote Group via its verified social media account (Dangote Group (@DangoteGroup) November 24, 2024, the latest petrol price slash would help Nigerian oil marketers to save about N20 on each litre of petrol bought from the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals plant located at Ibeju-Lekki, in Lagos State.
