NYSC affirms Corps members will start receiving N77,000 allowance from February 2025

Following the Federal Government’s approval of the monthly allowance and its inclusion in the 2025 Budget, Brigadier-General Yushau Ahmed, Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme has confirmed that payment of N77,000 to Corps members will begin February this year.

ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ reports Brigadier-General Ahmed disclosed this Thursday, January 30 while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II Corps members, in Katsina State, North-West Nigeria.

The Director-General also confirmed that increment in the Corps members’ allowance, as approved and included in this year’s budget, would be effected accordingly.

He noted: “The Federal Government has already approved the increment of your allowance.

“It is no longer news; what we have the approval in our hands. What we are waiting for is just the passage of the budget.

“This month (January) has already ended, but once the budget is passed, by next month (February), you will start receiving N77,000 instead of the usual N33,000.”

Corps members urged to uphold diligence, honesty and perseverance

The Director-General of NYSC, in his address, also urged Corps members to shun every form of misconduct and other negative behaviours that could endanger their future ambitions.

Ahmed preached diligence, honesty, perseverance, and faith in God are prerequisites to a prosperous life.

According to him, Corps Members should respect the cultures and traditions of their host communities, and quickly integrate with them after leaving their various Orientation Camps.

Brigadier-General Ahmed advised the young Nigerians to equally add value to their host communities by initiating either personal or group Community Development Service (CDS) projects that would improve the standards of living of their hosts.[
