Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) has issued a voluntary recall for certain 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L vehicles.

ñ gathered the move is in connection with a software error in the instrument panel cluster that could display an incorrect vehicle speed.

Internal assessments led to the identification of this risk, agency report said.

A total of approximately 7,198 vehicles are thought to be affected, report stated.

It is also noted the the affected vehicles were sold through Jeep dealerships across the United States (US).

Chrysler is collaborating with the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to notify owners, pull the affected vehicles from distribution as needed, and provide a remedy.

The automobile manufacturer said the potential risk is that an incorrect speedometer reading can lead to speeding or mismatching traffic speeds.

The company emphasised if a collision occurs, or if anyone is concerned about potential harm, the consumer should contact a healthcare professional for medical evaluation.
