CBN unveils 16 newly-appointed Directors to man key departments (Full List)

*The Central Bank of Nigeria appoints 16 new Directors to head and administer key departments in the operations of the banking sector regulator in the country

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has appointed 16 new Directors to head and administer key departments in the Bank’s operations.

The CBN said the new appointments into operations in several policy-driven, regulatory and supervisory capacities of the banking sector regulator became effective from Monday, March 3, 2025.

The newly-appointed Directors are Jide-Samuel Avbasowamen as the Director of the Information Technology Department; Abdullahi Hamisu, Director of Banking Services Department; Ojumu Adenike, Director of Medical Services Department; and Makinde Olanrewaju, Head of Procurement and Support Services Department.

Other appointees are Sike Ijeoma as Director of Financial Policy and Regulation Department; Isa-Olatinwo Aisha, Director of Consumer Protection Department (CPD); and Oboh Victor Ugbem, Director of Monetary Policy Department of the Bankers’ Bank.

The Nigerian banking regulator also announced Nakorji Musa would head the Trade and Exchange Department; Yusuf Rakiya to lead the Payments System Supervision Department; Vincent Modesola to oversee the Strategy Management and Innovation Department; Farouk Muhammad is to lead the Reserve Management Department; and Akinwunmi Olubukola Akinniyi takes charge of the Banking Supervision Department.

The CBN stated Solaja Mohammed-Jamiu has been appointed lead the Other Financial Institutions Supervision Department (OFISD); Hassan Umar will lead the Development and Finance Institutions Supervision Department; and Adedeji Adetona will lead in the Currency Operations and Branch Management Department.

Okpanachi Moses will serve as the Head of the Statistics Department, the Bank noted.
