Against the backdrop of certain Web sites, or messages claiming to offer access to the Nigerian Government’s Student Loan Scheme, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has warned students against applying for loans via such dubious portals and Web sites.

Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, Director of Corporate Communications at the NELFUND, who disclosed this development in a statement at the weekend, in Abuja, FCT, urged students, and the general public to disregard any other links, Web sites, or messages claiming to offer access to the Student Loan Scheme in the country.

Oluwatuyi stated: “The Nigerian Education Loan Fund wishes to reiterate that the ONLY official portal for student loan applications is www.nelf.gov.ng.

“Students and the public are advised to disregard any other links, websites, or messages claiming to offer access to the NELFUND Student Loan Scheme. Any platform other than www.nelf.gov.ng is unauthorised and should not be trusted.”

He also averred: “NELFUND remains committed to ensuring that eligible Nigerian students have access to financial support through a transparent and secure process.

“For verified updates and official information, always visit www.nelf.gov.ng or follow our verified social media handles.”
