Ikeja Electric downgrades 2 Band A feeders to ‘B’, apologises for 20-hr supply shortfalls on 81 other feeders

The Management of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) Plc have the downgrade of two feeders from Band A to Band B category in Oke Ira and Ijegun areas of Lagos State.

ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ reports the Ikeja Electric stated this in a public notice the service provider published on its corporate Web site Tuesday, March 10, 2025.

The IKEDC said: “Dear Esteemed Customer, the under-listed feeders have been downgraded from Band A to B in line with regulatory compliance.”

The affected downgraded power feeders are 1.) 11-Oke Ira-INJ T1 -OKE IRA, and 2.) 33-Ejigbo TCN- IJEGUN.

It is also noted that DisCos usually, resort to feeder downgrades due to either load shedding, faults on transmission infrastructure, power supply disruptions, or instability in areas of franchise, among other factors.

In a related development, the Ikeja Electric Wednesday, March 12 as well apologised to electricity consumers for falling short of the expected minimum service level of 20 hours on 81 Band A feeders, which occurred between My March 10 and 11 this year.

The power company, in another public notice, stated: “Dear Esteemed Customer, We Extend our apologies for falling short of the expected minimum service level of 20 hours on the Band A feeders below for the 10th and 11th of March, 2025.”

The DisCo announced the latest shortfall affected 81 Feeders across several locations, including Ikeja, Shomolu, Akowonjo, Oshodi, Abule Egba, and Ikorodu areas of Lagos State.

“We regret any inconveniences this may have caused you,” Ikeja Electric said.
