The Federal Government has unveiled several initiatives of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, aimed at positioning Enugu State, in South-East Nigeria, at the forefront of technological innovation in the West African country.

ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ reports Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, Honourable Minister for Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, stated this Thursday, March 27, 2025, during his visit to the Enugu State Government House, in Enugu.

Tijani noted he appreciated the warm welcome accorded him and his team by Governor (Dr.) Peter Mbah and the good people of Enugu State.

The Minister, in a post via his verified social media account Thursday, affirmed the innovative strides of Governor Mbah-led administration to drive inclusive growth in the South-East state.

He equally emphasised the importance of collaborations across all tiers of the Nigerian Government to achieve the Ministry’s collective goals enshrined in its Strategic Blueprint.

Dr. Tijani disclosed that he had the opportunity to engage with Fellows from the 3MTT Nigeria programme in the state.

He said: “I had the honour of visiting Enugu State, where I received a warm welcome from Dr. Peter Mbah, the Executive Governor, and the good people of the state.

“Upon arrival, I was immediately impressed by the city’s infrastructure—a clear testament to Governor Peter Mbah’s intentional approach to development.”

According to the Minister, during discussions with Mbah and other top state government officials, he highlighted the governor’s innovative strides to drive inclusive growth.

“I emphasised the importance of collaboration across all tiers of government to achieve our collective goals under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“I also unveiled several initiatives from the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy aimed at positioning Enugu State at the forefront of technological innovation,” stated he.

Tijani further explained: “Following my session with the governor and his team, I had the opportunity to engage with Fellows from our 3MTT Nigeria programme, in Enugu State.

“The inspirational stories of fellows like Bassey, Igwe, Faith, Chukwunonso and several others continue to motivate us to do more.”

He expressed sincere appreciation to Governor Mbah, and his entire team, with special recognition to the Honourable Commissioner for Innovation, Science & Technology, Prince Lawrence Ezeh, for “their dedication to growing the state’s digital economy.”

The Minister said: “I look forward to continued collaboration with Enugu State, as we promote policies, develop infrastructure, and build frameworks aimed at driving productivity and growth for the benefit of all our citizens.”
