TD Africa’s TecHERdemy churns out 400 female graduands

*TD Africa, the leading technology distribution company in Sub-Saharan Africa, celebrates the graduation of 400 young Nigerian women from its flagship TecHERdemy programme in Lagos, urging the graduands to ‘confidently step into the tech world, ready to make their mark’

The atmosphere on On April 17, 2025, at Yudala Heights, on Victoria Island, in Lagos, Nigeria, was electric with pride, hope and inspiration for both the graduands, their relations, and well-wishers.

ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ reports TD Africa, the leading technology distribution company in Sub-Saharan Africa, on the day celebrated the graduation of 400 young Nigerian women from its flagship TecHERdemy programme.

The company said that over the past six months, the incredible women had immersed themselves in rigorous, hands-on training in Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Software Development.

TD Africa asserted: “They are now confidently stepping into the tech world, ready to make their mark.”

The event also attracted top voices in the industry, including Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of Zinox Group, who commended the graduates for their resilience and brilliance.

In his keynote speech on the occasion, Dr. Ekeh shared a hopeful vision for Africa’s future.

The expert described the young women as “the pioneers of a new, inclusive era of tech leadership on the African continent.â€

In her heartfelt address delivered at the event, Mrs. Chioma Ekeh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TD Africa, urged the graduates to let their values guide them as they navigate their careers.

Mrs. Ekeh said: “Hold tightly to your values. Let integrity guide your work, let innovation fuel your dreams, and let your impact speak louder than your résumé.”

The ceremony was filled with pleasant emotion as graduates shared their personal stories of transformation during their TecHERdemy programme.

Yetunde Kayode, one of the graduands and certified data scientist, summed it up beautifully, and said: “This programme changed my life.

“I’m walking away empowered, skilled, and deeply grateful to Mrs. Ekeh and the TecHERdemy team for believing in us.â€

Besides, 15 exceptional participants were honoured for their outstanding performance and leadership during the programme, reminding everyone that excellence comes in many forms.

TecHERdemy, which launched November 2024, was built with a simple but powerful mission: to equip young Nigerian women with globally relevant digital skills and open doors to a tech career.

According to TD Africa, in the course of the six months, and beyond just tech skills, the programme sparks “a movement” among the beneficiaries.

The recent graduation ceremony was not just the end of a programme.

“It was the beginning of a brighter, more inclusive future for tech in Africa,” the company stated.”
