Nigerian Government will pay N35,000 workers’ wage award arrears from April 2025 –OAGF

Following the payment of the first five months’ wage award in instalments, the Federal Government has assured Nigerian workers of its readiness to offset the outstanding five months N35,000 wage award arrears to workers.

Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations in the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF) said this in a statement.

Mokwa affirmed the Federal Government had earlier paid five months’ wage award instalmentally.

The Director of Press and Public Relations stated that the outstanding wage award arrears would be paid in installments of N35,000 per month for five months.

The statement also noted that the first installment of the outstanding wage award arrears would be paid after payment of the April 2025 salaries.

Mokwa equally said: “The wage award arrears will not be paid with the April 2025 salary; it will come immediately after the salaries are paid.”

The Federal Government, the state added, is determined to fully implement all policies and agreements regarding staff remuneration and welfare to enhance productivity and efficiency in the Nigerian economy.
