Sequel to the current administration’s constitution of “a capable leadership team” at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President/Chief Executive (CE) of Dangote Group, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The President/CE of Dangote Group affirmed that he recently visited President Tinubu to commend him for assembling such a formidable and professionally competent team, that is eminently qualified to take NNPCL to a greater height.

According to Dangote, the new Management team of the NNPC Limited brings a wealth of technical expertise, and all have managerial experiences that are essential for revitalising Nigeria’s most strategic public enterprise.

The Group further stated that the foremost industrialist averred the new NNPCL team, under the leadership of Engr. Ojulari and Kida, reflects the President’s strategic intent to drive reform and innovation across the energy sector.

Dangote noted: “We are confident that this team will address systemic challenges, align with the President’s vision of a $1 trillion economy, and reposition NNPC Limited for operational excellence and long-term sustainability.â€

In regard to his recent statement over his reported continued fighting for the survival of his $20bn petroleum refinery, Dangote asserted that he is determined to fight the cabals in the oil sector to a standstill.

According to him, the statement was not in any way connected with the new leadership of the NNPC.

He clarified that the new leadership in the NNPCL, has been supportive in terms of meeting the company’s needs thus far.

The entrepreneur and philanthropist also disclosed that the cabals he was referring to are some major oil marketers and traders bent on frustrating President Tinubu’s efforts at revamping the Nigerian economy.

He equally noted that the recent activities and structural reforms the NNPC Limited has introduced serve as strong indicators of the organisation’s renewed focus on transparency, efficiency, and accountability.

Dangote said: “The calibre of individuals at the helm, and their deliberate, reform-driven agenda, demonstrate a commitment to fostering a culture of performance and professionalism.”

With optimism, Dangote expressed confidence that the new leadership of NNPC Limited would take the West African country’s energy industry to new heights.
