Hyundai recalls 620 vehicles over risk of oil pump fire

Hyundai is recalling 620 2025 Palisades over fire risks from faulty oil pump controllers.

The automobile manufacturer said the recall had become necessary due to a faulty electric oil pump controller that could cause moisture accumulation, electrical shorts, and potential fires, agency report said.

In regard to what consumers should do, the company urged vehicle owners to park their cars outdoors and away from structures until the defective part is replaced.

Hyundai also assured it would provide the repair free of charge, starting July 4, 2025.

They can also check recall status using their licence plate or VIN at www.safercar.gov.

Hyundai’s number for this recall is 278.
