Navy Captain Omoniyi Caleb Olubolade (Rtd.), former Military Administrator (MILAD) of Bayelsa State and Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is dead.

Late Olubolade, who celebrated his 70th Birthday November 30, 2024, died Sunday May 11, in Apapa, Lagos.

Mrs. Oluwayemisi Akinadewo, the deceased’s first daughter, and Mr. Dayo Olubolade, his first son, in a joint statement, disclosed the Ipoti-Ekiti, in Ekiti State former Bayelsa State MILAD, had left his house to play lawn tennis at a nearby facility where he slumped.

The statement noted: “He (late Navy Captain Omoniyi Caleb Olubolade, Rtd.) drove himself to the facility to play lawn tennis in the evening, and slumped while playing. “Efforts were made by medical officers around to revive him to no avail.â€

They also stated: “He was immediately rushed to Obisesan Naval Medical Hospital, Apapa where he was pronounced dead.â€

Olubolade was also a former Minister for Special Duties, Minister of State for FCT, and Minister for Police Affairs.

Burial announcement will be announced later, the statement added.
