The advanced facial biometric technology on mobile banking application of FirstBank Nigeria Limited is designed for seamless user enrollment and device activation.

ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ reports FirstBank recently unveiled an advanced facial biometric technology on its FirstMobile app for seamless user enrollment and device activation

The tech upgrades are aimed at offering consumers of its financial products and services with a seamless, secure, and efficient digital banking experience, the leading banking institution stated.

The FirstMobile app, the bank announced, has features, including facial recognition sign-up and activation, virtual credit cards for secure online shopping, and instant credit card activation for its customers.

Highlighting the benefits of integrating the advanced biometric tech into the FirstMobile app, Chukwuma Ezirim, Group Executive, E-Business and Retail Products Division at FirstBank, said: “With these new services now live on FirstMobile, we are confident we will undoubtedly enhance our customers’ digital experience.

“We understand the importance of keeping up with the evolving digital landscape, and we are dedicated to providing our customers with cutting-edge solutions that make banking simpler, faster, and more accessible.”

Ezirim stated: “Our goal is to ensure that every interaction with FirstBank enhances customer satisfaction and builds long-lasting relationships.”

As regards the benefits of the upgrades, the bank also noted the newly-enhanced FirstBank mobile banking platform, FirstMobile, has been improved to enable consumers to sign up and activate the app easily, using just their faces.

With the new-fangled biometric tech upgrades, the bank customers also can shop online securely, with a virtual credit card that is instantly issued and always accessible within the app, according to FirstBank.

Besides, the financial institution noted that consumers could activate their new credit cards directly from the app to start spending immediately.

Customers equally have the option to access salary advances with a convenient three-month repayment plan, it stated.

Flexible salary advances with a three-month repayment option, and there are also general improvements, bug fixes.

The new facial biometric feature enables users to activate, or register on FirstBank’s mobile app- FirstMobile securely, using facial verification.

This feature also includes an advanced anti-spoof detection to enhance customer account protection and ensure robust security, it stated.

According to FirstBank, this latest tech solution effectively addresses the diverse needs of customers, including new customers, Diaspora customers without cards, individuals with lost or expired cards, those who have opted out of card use, as well as customers facing card verification failures or lacking convenient access to card details.

This feature, the bank noted, will provide seamless access to essential banking services, such as fund transfers and bill payments, ensuring swift, reliable, and convenient transaction processing for all consumers of financial products and services.
