NCSC 2025: NITDA applauds cybersecurity experts, industry stakeholders for excellent contributions

The 2025 National Cybersecurity Conference (NCSC) has rounded off with a resounding dinner and awards night, celebrating the exceptional contributions of individuals, organisations, and institutions in the cybersecurity sector in Abuja, FCT.

ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ reports the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) at the grand finale of the event Wednesday, July 9, 2025, congratulated all the winners at the National Cybersecurity Awards on their excellent contributions to the cybersecurity industry in Nigeria.

NIDTA also disclosed the awardees included the Lifetime Achievement Award given to Abdulhakeem Ajijola; CS Hero Award: CP Ifeanyi Uche Henry; Women in Cybersecurity Recognition Award: Patricia Eromosele; Cybersecurity Personality of the Year Award: Dr. Robinson Tambari Sibe; MDA Cybersecurity.

In the Leadership Award category, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) got it; Best Public Sector Initiative for NPF-NCC; Cybersecurity Research Excellence Award was given to the Cybersecurity Experts Association of Nigeria; Cybersecurity Institution of the Year for Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna; Outstanding Cybersecurity Startup Award went to APISentry; and Best State in Cybersecurity Leadership Award for Delta State of Nigeria.

For the Cyber Drill Competition Winners, the Nigeria Defence College (NDC), got the first position; the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) clinched the 2nd position, while the Ekiti State got the 3rd position.

The Special Recognition at the awards ceremony, given to the Best Female of the Hackathon – Stella Danjuma.

In a related development, the Information Technology (IT) sector regulatory agency has congratulated winners of NCSC cybersecurity Hackathon.

NITDA stated: “Kudos to all awardees for their exceptional contributions to cybersecurity in Nigeria!”

It equally expressed big congratulations to the following winners of the NCSC Cybersecurity Hackathon, tagged, “Capture the Flag: Industry Professionals Category”: 1st position to Team Error; 2nd position to Team PWN x ROOT; and 3rd position to Team PWN_NG.

The agency said their exceptional skills and relentless efforts at addressing cybersecurity challenges shone through in the recent 24-hour competition (6p.m.-6p.m.).
