Adamawa Governor raises Corps members’ allowance, set to build new NYSC camp

Governor Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has announced an increment in the monthly allowance of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state from N20,000 to N30,000.

ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ reports Governor Fintiri announced this development Friday, August 1, 2025, while declaring open the 2025 Batch B Stream I, NYSC Orientation Camp, in Damare, Adamawa State.

The governor, in a post shared on his verified official X account also said: “I declared open the 2025 Batch B Stream I NYSC Orientation in Damare.

“I announced an increase in corps members’ monthly allowance from ₦20,000 to N30,000.â€

Besides the latest increment in the Corps members’ state’s monthly allowance, Governor Fintiri stated: “We’re also set to build a new NYSC camp, with professionals in relevant fields engaged in the project.â€

He further disclosed that plans are underway to construct a new NYSC camp in the state.

Professionals in relevant fields, he noted, have already been engaged for the building project.

The National Service (NYSC), established in 1973, is a one-year compulsory scheme for Nigerian graduates.

It is for those who finished school before the age of 30.

The Federal Government created to foster unity and national integration, and Corps members are usually deployed to states outside their region for community service and national development.
