Presidency commends Nigerian students on excelling at global competition

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu, Rukayya Muhammad Fema, and Hadiza Kashim Kalli, on emerging world champions in English language communications skills and debate at the 2025 TeenEagle Global competition in London, United Kingdom (UK).

Seventeen-year-old Nafisa was named the overall best in English language skills; 15-year-old Rukayya emerged as the overall best in debate, while Hadiza clinched the outstanding talent award (gold medal).

President Tinubu particularly hailed these exceptional young Nigerians for the feat and affirms that the country’s future is much brighter.

Tinubu asserted that several Nigerian youths are “repositories of excellence”.

The Nigerian leader also stated commended the institutions of learning, and said that the accomplishments were a testament to the quality and potential of Nigeria’s education system as a nurturer of some of the world’s brightest minds.

Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Wednesday, August 6, 2025, stated the President believes that education remains a critical element for national development.

This, Onanuga noted, underscores, Tinubu administration’s significant investment in the sector and the removal of financial barriers for indigent Nigerians seeking higher education through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

The President, therefore, encouraged Nafisa, Rukayya, and Hadiza to remain steadfast in their studies and wishes them continued success, the statement noted.
