EFCC arrests alleged cyber fraudsters at Obasanjo Library, seizes over 20 exotic cars, others

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) operatives, early hours of Sunday, August 10, 2025, reportedly arrested young Internet fraudsters at the Green Legacy Hotel, located at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OPL), in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

It was gathered that the EFCC had yet to officially confirm the raid on the hotel.

The operatives of the anti-graft regulatory agency reportedly arrested a number of youths, and confiscated over 20 luxury cars, and other valuables in the process.

The operatives from the Lagos Directorate reportedly activated the raid in the early hours of Sunday during a pool party on the premises of the Obasanjo Library.

Speaking on the incident in Abeokuta, Vitalis Ortese, Managing Director of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Ventures, confirmed the incident, but did not provide details or circumstances behind the raid, Channels TV report also noted.

Ortese was quoted to have said: “There was an incident this morning. We will find out and we will let you know.”

Likewise, Ayo Oyewole, Spokesperson of the Lagos Zonal Command of EFCC, said the office was not aware of the operation, but promised to provide feedback, report added.
