*2 block makers from Lagos, Oyo States become first star prize winners of N1million each in Bag of Goodies Season 2 Consumer Promo

*Winners, industry stakeholders commend company for organising promo

Barely a week after its launch, two block makers from Lagos and Oyo States have become first star prize winners of N1 million each in the ongoing Dangote Cement Bag of Goodies Season 2 Consumer Promo.

The Management of Dangote Cement, in a statement, said that the consumer promo was partly to reward loyal customers and ameliorate the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on consumers.

Mrs. Funmi Sanni, Marketing Director of Dangote Cement, during the recent launching of the promo in Lagos, explained that the Spell and Win Promo is expected to produce 1,000 millionaires within 16 weeks.

According to Mrs. Sanni, many consumers also stand a chance to win tricycles, motorcycle, television sets, refrigerators, Dangote Food Goodies packs, recharge cards and many other exciting gifts.

The promo, which offers winners cash prize apart from other commercial and household items, is expected to run from July 15 to November 15, 2020.

Apostle I.I. Aina, National Secretary of Block Makers鈥� Association, has commended Dangote Cement for investing in its consumers through the ongoing nationwide promo.

Ojediran Kayode Stephen, a block maker based in Lanlate, in Ibarapa East Local Government Area of Oyo State, who emerged the first N1 million winner in the 鈥淪pell Dangote and Be a Millionaire鈥� promo, said he got the winning letters from among the 500 hundred bags of cement he bought to make blocks for consumers.

Ojediran stated that aside from the N1million cash prize, he also won several recharge cards and extra N2,000 in the promo.

On making the best of his winnings, the block maker disclosed that he is going to invest the N1 million to expand his block making business.

He said: 鈥淚 am very happy for becoming one of the first sets of people to win in the Dangote Cement Promo.

鈥淚 intend to use the money to expand my business.聽 I am going to buy more bags of cement to produce more blocks.

鈥淚 thank Dangote Cement Company for organising this promo in this era of COVID-19, and I believe the money will go a long way to reduce the pain of the pandemic in the country.鈥�

The Managing Director of Afolabi Adefila Block Industry, another lucky winner, stated that he has been a user of Dangote Cement since the inception of his business, which he started several years ago.

According to him, he buys over 300 bags of Dangote Cement weekly for his block factory located in Lagos.

鈥淚 patronise only Dangote Cement. This money is timely, most especially during this era of COVID-19.聽 Dangote has been doing a lot to ameliorate the challenges of COVID-19 on Nigeria.

鈥淚 am aware of what the company has been doing to reduce hardship in Nigeria.聽 The promo is just an added effort to what Dangote has already done in terms of poverty alleviation,鈥� said he.

In his reaction to the news of the first winners, Apostle Aina remarked that he is excited that members of his association have emerged as the first set of winners of the ongoing Dangote Cement Promo.

Dangote Cement is best in terms of quality, the National Secretary of Block Makers鈥� Association said, adding, that the promo would help improve the association鈥檚 members鈥� revenue.

Aina applauded company鈥檚 innovate efforts at producing best product for building construction from the stable of Dangote Cement.

Meanwhile, the Marketing Director of Dangote Cement has said to be a part of the promotion, 鈥渁ll the consumer needs to do is to buy any promo bag of Dangote Cement during promo period, pick out the scratch card inserted in the bag, scratch open the inserted card to see what you have won, go to the nearest redemption center to collect your prize.

To win N1million, the consumer is expected to collect cards to spell, D-A-N-G-O-T-E and win star prize of N1million,鈥� said the company.
