Sequel to a Federal High Court鈥檚 granting the request of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to freeze the bank accounts of 19 individuals and a public affairs company linked to #EndSARS protests Friday, November 6, cross-sections of Nigerians have threatened to embark of fresh protests.

It was gathered Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court, in Abuja, FCT, granted a request to freeze the bank accounts the CBN earlier filed October 20, 2020.

In the ruling, the court order has directed all head offices of Access Bank, Fidelity Bank, First Bank Nigeria, Guaranty Trust Bank, United Bank of Africa and Zenith Bank to freeze all transactions on the 20 accounts on the list for a period of 180 days, pending the outcome of investigation and inquiry conducted by CBN.

Among the affected individuals are Bolatito Racheal Oduala, Chima David Ibebunjoh, Mary Doose Kpengwa, Saadat Temitope Bibi, Bassey Victor Israel, Wisdom Busaosowo Obi, Nicholas Ikhalea Osazele, Ebere Idibie, Akintomide Lanre Yusuf, Uhuo Ezenwanyi Promise and Mosopefoluwa Odeseye.

绿帽献妻 reports that Gatefield Nigeria Limited had earlier sued Access Bank Plc for apparently blocking an account used to promote media coverage of the #EndSARS protests.

The development has generated angry reactions from Nigerian consumers who have condemned the Buhari-led administration for oppressing the country鈥檚 youths.

Some Nigerians, in some of their reactions on the Social Media platforms have threatened to hit the streets again to protest against oppression.

Others, however, urged immediate withdrawal of Rinu and other members from the judicial panel set up to investigate alleged cases of Police brutality in the country.
