Strike: Government, ASUU resume consultations Friday

Isola Moses | ÂÌñÏׯÞ

As part of the ongoing efforts at ending the eight-month long strike by the University lecturers in Nigeria, the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) are expected to resume talks Friday, November 20, 2020.

Charles Akpan, Spokesman of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, disclosed this development to the media Wednesday night.

Akpan said the meeting would hold in the minister’s conference hall, in Abuja, FCT.

ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ reports that ASUU has embarked on an indefinite strike since March 2020, over a dispute with the government on the controversial Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) and funding of the country’s universities.
