Brig-General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.), Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has assured Nigerians, that the judicial case against Abba Kyari, embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), is one that will not linger too long in the Nigerian courts.

Marwa, who stated this while featuring on a Channels TV programme Friday, June 24, 2022, said the conviction of two other defendants in the case was evidence that the matter would be treated with the urgency it deserves.

The NDLEA Chairman stated: “They have been convicted and jailed those two, I think that is a pointer that this is a case that will not last long’

According to him, the NDLEA has the cooperation on the matter, adding that the agencies have full confidence in the the country’s Judiciary.”

Regarding the alleged involvement of some operatives of the NDLEA in the Kyari’s purported involvement in transnational drug ring, Marwa stressed that the agency as of today is well motivated, and as such, the NDLEA operatives have remained steadfast in performing their duties.

He further noted several men of the regulatory agency instead, are now being awarded for refusing to take bribes.

Their integrity has continued to produce results for the agency, stated he.

Marwa, therefore, assured Nigerians that while the men are rushing to demonstrate their patriotism, there is a special monitoring unit that is ensuring there is no laxity within the ranks of the NDLEA.
