Lagos iconic Red Line Rail project a promise made and kept, says Sanwo-Olu

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State during week flagged off the commercial Operations of the iconic Red Line Rail Project.

ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ report Governor Sanwo-Olu had performed the hroundbreaking ceremony of the Red Line Rail on April 15, 2021 as a component of the state’s integrated transport system.

The scheduled trip took off from the Oyingbo Station (Ebute Metta), where the Governor used his Cowry Card to board the train upon commissioning.

Jubril Gawat, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Lagos State on New Media, also noted the next stop was Yaba, then Mushin to Oshodi to Ikeja, the state capital, where Sanwo-Olu alighted and answered some questions from the reporters.

The Red Line Rail routes cover Oyingbo – Yaba – Mushin – Oshodi – Ikeja – Agege – Iju – Agbado in Lagos, the commercial hub of Nigeria.

In his remarks on activating the Red Line Rail project, the Lagos State Governor described the public transport infrastructure and legacy project as “a promise made and promise kept” for Lagosians, and Nigerian consumers at large.
