Senator Monday Okphebholo was officially sworn-in as the new Governor of Edo State, Tuesday, November 12, 2024, while Hon. Dennis Idahosa also took the Oath of Office as the Deputy Governor of the state.

ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ reports Vice-President Kashim Shettima, led the Federal Government’s delegation to the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, in Benin City, the state capital, venue of the governorship inauguration of Senator Okpebholo as the fifth democratically elected Governor of Edo State of Nigeria.

Other dignitaries at the swearing-in ceremony include State Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), namely, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Hope Uzodinma of Imo, and Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto, among others.

Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, National Chairman of APC, and Senator Adams Oshiomhole, his predecessor, also graced the event in Benin City.

Honourable Justice Daniel Okungbow, Chief Judge of the State, administered the Oath of Office and Allegiance on Senator Okpebholo, accompanied by his two daughters, and allegiance administered by the

Hon. Dennis Idahosa, the Deputy Governor, also accompanied by his wife, had earlier subscribed to relevant oaths at the ceremony.
