Tinubu appoints Bwalla Special Adviser, names 3 new Directors-General of MDAs

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of three Nigerians as Directors-General of various agencies and one special adviser on Media and Public Communications.

Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, who noted this in a statement Thursday, November 14, 2024, said the new appointees areMr. Olawale Olopade, as the Director-General, National Sports Commission; Dr. Abisoye Fagade, Director-General of National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism; Dr. Adebowale Adedokun, as the Director-General, Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).

The statement also revealed President Tinubu appointed Daniel Bwala as the Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications (State House).

ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ reports Bwala, a lawyer and notable public affairs analyst, had worked as a Spokesman for the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential campaign team in the 2023 General Elections, in which Tinubu defeated Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and others to emerge as the Nigerian President.

He was regarded as a vocal critic of the ruling All Progressives Party in the run up to the Presidential Election last year.

Olopade, the new Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), is a sports administrator with many years of experience in the sector.

He served as commissioner of youth and sports in Ogun State and was Chairman of the local organising committee of the 2024 National Sports Festival.

The new Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, Dr. Abisoye Fagade is a marketing communication professional. He is the Founder and Managing Director of Sodium Brand Solutions.

Adedokun, the new helmsman of the Bureau of Public Procurement, was the Director of Research/Training and Strategic Planning at the Bureau before his appointment.

“The President enjoins the newly-appointed officers to discharge their duties with dedication, patriotism, and excellence,” Onanuga said in the statement.
