NCC, NIICTE strengthen collaboration to sustain ICT policy development, advocacy

In a bid to advance ICT engineering while shaping the West African country’s future, a delegation of the Nigerian Institute of ICT Engineers (NIICTE) recently paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Aminu Maida, Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) at the Commission’s corporate headquarters, in Abuja, FCT.

ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ reports Engr. Abraham Oshadami, Executive Commissioner, Technical Services at NCC, representing the Executive Vice-Chairman/CEO, alongside other distinguished members of the NCC Management team received the visiting NIICTE delegation.

Speaking on the aim of their recent visit to the Commission’s Headquarters, Engr. Chinwe Vivian O. Aliyu, a Microsoft Certified Associate, data scientist and Machine Learning engineer, stated the visit has “reaffirmed NCC’s unwavering support for NIICTE, recognising our Institute as a critical stakeholder in ICT Engineering and Development.”

Aliyu, in a statement via her verified social media account, also affirmed that from the very inception of NIICTE, the telecoms sector regulatory Commission has “stood as a pillar of support—and today, that bond remains stronger than ever!”

In regard to gains of the Institute’s engagement with the NCC, Engr. Aliyu noted the NIICTE’s visit, among others, would enhance continued collaboration on capacity building and events, operational support for the secretariat and meeting venues, and strategic partnerships in policy development and advocacy in the ICT industry in Nigeria.

She further noted: “This milestone strengthens our resolve to drive ICT Engineering excellence, innovation, and professional development in Nigeria.”

The expert added: “With NCC’s backing, we are poised to achieve even greater impact!

“Let’s keep the momentum going! Together, we build the future of ICT Engineering in Nigeria.”
