Toyota recalls 443,444 hybrid vehicles over potential backup light failure

*Toyota says the backup lights of affected Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles are at risk of failing

Toyota is recalling 443,444 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles.

The automobile manufacturer said moisture might enter the reverse light assemblies of the affected vehicles, and cause a light failure.

ÂÌñÏ×ÆÞ reports Toyota also explained that the reverse light failure might reduce visibility, and fail to alert pedestrians and other drivers that the vehicle is backing up, increasing the risk of a crash.

In respect of what to do in addressing the defect, however, the company said dealers would replace both reverse light assemblies and repair the wire harnesses as necessary, free of charge, agency report also said.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 30, 2025.

Meanwhile, affected vehicle owners may contact Toyota’s Customer Service on 1-800-331-4331.

Toyota’s numbers for this recall are 24TB06 and 24TA06.
